It is so hard to believe that one year ago I was getting ready to start my term as Chamber president, hoping that I would spend the upcoming year trying to positively impact our membership and community.
As I look back now, I see the level of generosity and dedication that has been displayed throughout the year by our board and our membership in order to increase the visibility and vitality of the businesses and all Chamber members of Pleasant Hill.
We kicked off the year with another successful Chamber annual dinner which was very well attended and fun was had by all. I am looking forward to the upcoming dinner which will be held on Monday, Jan. 28, at Toad Valley Golf Course. Please keep your eyes posted as more details and official invitations are yet to come. It is guaranteed to be another great event, and it is your opportunity to network and socialize as well as meet your 2013 incoming board of directors.
Early in spring 2012 we implemented the Pleasant Hill Chamber Partners program, which was the brainchild of our membership committee. This program gave our members a free opportunity to promote their businesses by partnering up with other members to cross sell their services. This program is still up and running and going very well, and I look forward to it continuing into 2013. Please see the Chamber website for more details.
Summer of 2012 brought our fourth annual Chill on the Hill event. This event is one of my favorites as it allows both members and the community to come together to showcase the beauty of Pleasant Hill and Copper Creek Lake Park. The city has been working during the last few months installing permanent structures that will make the venue even more attractive. Look for more parking especially. This event is gaining momentum each year, and we look forward to it continuing next year. We keep getting calls from bands wanting to get in on this event, and I am sure we will have a great line-up again next year. Please consider a sponsorship opportunity for this great event as well.
The fall brought our second annual “Shopping in your Hometown” event which was held at Copper Creek Golf Course. Attendance and vendors topped last year, and the event was very much a success yet again.
Again, I cannot thank you all enough for your support of my presidency. Thank to you to a great board of directors including Adam Langholdt, Holly Bernal, Tim Hummel, Christina Anderson, Jessica Berg, Lainie Cooney, Tim Tarbell, Brooke Pulliam, Christine D’Amico, Marta McCauley and Jill Meyer. Also, a huge thank you to our Executive Director Cathy Jensen. What a fun year we had.
I am looking forward to seeing you all at the annual dinner. Until then… Grow. Play. Live.
