Curl Up With a Good Book

If you like to read, love the library or just want to join a group that snacks while discussing books, come join the Central Teen Book Club.

This month, bring in a book featuring your favorite literary character. Do you love Katniss, the Berenstain Bears, Percy Jackson or someone else? Come defend your choice. New members are always welcome. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2:30 p.m., Meeting Rooms 1 and 2.

Writers’ Workshop

Join our informal writers’ workshop. Share samples of your work and get feedback from other writers. Preregister at or 283-4152.

Bridge Club

The Des Moines Public Library will be closed Jan. 1 (New Year’s Day) and Jan. 21 (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day).

Worried you may not keep your resolution? Teens can come in this hour to learn tricks and tips on various topics including staying organized and focused, jump starting a fitness program, and more!

Crafternoon Hangout – Piggy Banks and a Game Show

Teens, enjoy your early out day with some crafts, some snacks and some laughs. Win prizes at our DMPL Game Show and then put your winnings in your personalized piggy bank.
