The Jefferson-Scranton Schools Board of Education will be having their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, December 19th at 5:15 PM.  One of the key topics on the agenda will be to look at Reading Policies.  The school district has Reading as one of its focuses for the year and will look at the development of possible board policies to assist in improving Reading.

We are continuing to prepare for a computer pilot project approved by the School Board in November.  The project will include purchasing seventy-five Google Chromebooks to be used by students at the high school.  Several teachers and administrators visited the Pocahontas Area School to observe what they are doing with Google Chromebooks.  Teachers taking part in the pilot project will be trained on the use of Google Docs and Google Apps in early January.

I would like to conclude by wishing everyone a joyous holiday season.  Classes will be dismissed at the end of the day Friday, December 21st and resume on Monday, January 7th.
