JHS vocal music kicks off holiday season with dinner, tree lighting

The Johnston High School vocal department invites you to share in two upcoming holiday events.

The first is the 33rd annual Olde English Madrigal Feaste, November 28-29. Seating begins at 6:45 p.m. with the performance starting at 7:30. The event will be held at the Great Hall of the Bridge, located at 62nd and 100th. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at the high school accounting office. The madrigal dinner is an evening of spirited vocal entertainment, along with a five-course gourmet meal. For more information on tickets or showtimes, please call 276-5378.

The second event is the annual Capitol Christmas Tree Lighting, November 30 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. on the west side of the Iowa State Capitol, near downtown Des Moines. The Johnston High School choir has been selected as the feature choir for the event. Governor Branstand and Lt. Governor Kim Reynolds will kick off the holiday season with this tree lighting. The Marines will also be in attendance to mark the start of their annual Toys for Tots campaign. Read the invitation here.
