Thanksgiving Week at the Library

Posted November 21, 2012 in Community Blogs

It’s Thanksgiving Week at the Fort Dodge Public Library.  The Library will be closed on Thursday, November 22 to observe the holiday, but we will be open regular hours on Friday and Saturday.  Grab a couple movies for the family over the long holiday weekend.  We have plenty of great selections for all ages.

Thinking about genealogy?  We have the Fort Dodge Messenger newspaper on microfilm back to the mid-1880’s that can be searched.  Staff here at the library will be happy to show you how to load the microfilm onto the readers and how to print copies of your findings.  We also have access to Heritage Quest, an online database that contains immigration records and census records that may help in your search.  Stop by the Reference Desk and pick up information about how to log on to the site.

Amy’s Picks for November are available for checkout.  Stop by her display and find a great new book or two to read now that it’s dark so soon at night.

See you soon!
