A Christmas Tale

Posted November 21, 2012 in Community Featured, Beaverdale

Tickets to see “A Christmas Tale” at the First Assembly of God’s Christmas Dinner Theatre are $15.

There is no better way to get into the Christmas spirit than being entertained by the festive performances put on by Beaverdale community churches.

First Assembly of God Church has an entire lineup of the Christmas Dinner Theatre throughout December that will be sure to remind everyone what Christmas is truly about. Four shows of “A Christmas Tale” will be performed on Friday, Nov. 30 at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, at noon, Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m. and a final performance on Sunday at 6:30 p.m.

The story of Christ’s birth will be played out on the stage in two acts, with the first including fun music and skits. The second is more serious and delves deeper into the meaning of the season and the importance of Jesus’ life and His gospel. The church hopes to leave the audience with an important question to answer in their individual lives: Once you know about Jesus and His life, will you accept Him into yours?

At the end of the performance, an offering will be taken to confirm the meaning of His life. To complete the evening, dinner will be catered by Hickory Park of Ames.

Tickets for the event are $15 per person and are going fast. The congregation at First Assembly is reaching out and welcoming everyone in the community to come join in on the celebration of Jesus and the holiday season. To reserve tickets, contact the church at (515) 279-1432. Proceeds will go back to the church to fund mission trips and other events.

First Assembly will also be presenting two performances on Christmas Eve at its candlelight service. These events will be choral productions performed by the choir at the church. Although it is yet to be determined if there will be acting, music will be the centerpieces of the show. Everyone in the community is welcome to share Christmas Eve with one another at First Assembly Church. For more information about the performance or any other festivities taking place at First Assembly, stop by and join in the celebration at 2725 Merle Hay Road.
