Over the past several weeks the work and responsibilities of the five subcommittees of the District Technology Committee have been reviewed. This week’s blog will discuss the next steps in the process of setting the future direction of technology in the district.
The subcommittees will be submitting and presenting their recommendations to the full committee in early December, 2012. The recommendations will be reviewed by the full committee for one of the following actions:
- Returned to subcommittee for further clarifications
- Accepted with modifications
- Accepted as presented
After all subcommittee reports have been accepted, a Board of Education work session will be set in which representatives from the committee will present their recommendations. Following the work session priorities will be established and budget numbers will be developed. Once budget numbers are developed the Board of Education will establish next steps in the implementation process.
In the end the goal is to lay out a plan of action with timelines for implementation. Thank you to all committee members for their diligence and efforts in setting the stage for the future integration of technology in the Webster City School District.
