Services for Audrey A. Whiton, 85 of Perry, IA will be 10:30 a.m.  Monday, November 19, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Perry, IA.   Visitation will be begin after 2 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2012 with family receiving friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Murdock Funeral Home in Perry.  Pastor Enna Antunez along with Pastor Kelly Gafkjen will officiate.  Musician will be Bertha Mae Van Horn and the special musical selection will be Amazing Grace.  Honorary Pallbearers will the members of the Torchbearer Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Soriety.  Pallbearers will be her grandchildren:  Ryan Albritton, Brent Dorman, Kirk Dorman, Mark Dorman, Trisha Dorman, Will Whiton, Quinn Whiton, Erik Whiton, Michael Whiton, Brad Whiton and Greg Whiton.  Burial will be in Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry. Audrey passed away Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the Rowley Masonic Home in Perry.

Audrey A. Whiton was born in Perry on April 12, 1927 the daughter of August and Elsie (Marquardt) Kressin.  Audrey was united in marriage to William Whiton on November 21, 1948 in Perry.  They lived and farmed most of their life in the Perry area.  Audrey worked at Kay’s Pre School in Perry from 1971-1984.  In 1981, Audrey was named Perry’s Mother of the Year.  Audrey was very active in the Dallas County Hospital Auxiliary.  She held many of the offices including President and spent many hours working in the hospital gift shop.  Audrey was also involved in and helped create the Life Line program.  Audrey even found time to help operate the concession stand at the Perry Boy’s Little League Baseball games.  She was a member of the Torchbearer Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.  Audrey was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Perry and played hand bells in the church’s Bell Choir.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, husband William in 1991 and two sisters.

Audrey is survived by her daughter Jill (Jim) Dorman of Perry, IA.  Her sons:  Kim (Rebecca) Whiton of Mediapolis, IA;  Scott (Susan) Whiton of Perry, IA and Kurt (Kelly) Whiton of Perry, IA.  Eleven grandchildren:  Ryan (Stephany) Albritton, Brent (fiance Becky) Dorman, Kirk Dorman, Mark Dorman, Trisha Dorman, Will Whiton, Quinn Whiton, Erik Whiton, Michael Whiton, Brad Whiton and Greg Whiton.  Four great grandchildren:  Andrew Albritton, Miles Whiton, Abbie Whiton and Trenten Whiton.

Memorials in her name will be given to the Perry Humane Society, Perry Booster Club, Iowa Hospice and Perry First United Methodist Church and may be left at Murdock Funeral Home in Perry.
