Sherry Subbert

Sherry Subbert, the daughter of William and Vera (Vote) Green, was born September 8, 1942 at Lohrville, Iowa and departed this life November 14, 2012 at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson, Iowa. She lived her life to the age of 70 years, 2 months and 6 days.

Sherry attended school in Lohrville and later earned her GED. On July 19, 1959, Sherry Green was united in marriage to Dennis Subbert at her parent’s home in Lohrville. Three children were born to this union. Sherry and Dennis made their home in Paton and Sherry worked for 40 years at Franklin Manufacturing in Jefferson. Dennis passed away in August of 2010.

Sherry was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Farnhamville. During her life, her family was the most important part of her life. She enjoyed collecting and reading cook books and collecting salt and pepper shakers.

Sherry is survived by her three children; Greg (Michaele) of Des Moines, Robyn (Randy) Long of Fremont and Rhonda (Maxx) Richards of Waukee, grandchildren; Heath Thede, Christen Mueller, Jameson Long, Blake Richards, Justin Long and Amber Bonjour, great-grandchildren; Phedra, Sebastian, Alex Akers, Skyler, Landon and Andrew Bonjour, two brothers; Don (Betty) Green of Idaho and Jack Green of Albert City, two sisters; Nancy (Ron) Foshe of Madrid and Linda (Clarence) Robinson of Des Moines, sisters-in-law; Bonnie Subbert, Lavone Green and Geraldine Green, a brother-in-law, Jerry (Sharon) Subbert and many nephews and nieces. Those who preceded her in death were her parents, husband in August of 2010, grandson Ty Richards, three brothers, a nephew and a sister-in-law.
A celebration of Sherry’s life was held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Farnhamville, Iowa with Pastor Robert Zellmer officiating. Burial was made in the Paton Township Cemetery near Paton. Musical selections were played by organist, Marsh Subbert.
