I would like to begin by congratulating the high school students that were inducted into the National Honor Society Sunday, November 11th during a ceremony held in the high school auditorium.  Twenty-three new members were inducted.  The ceremony was conducted by the twenty-three current National Honor Society members.  Jim Andrew of Jefferson was the speaker at the ceremony.  A reception for the inductees was held after the ceremony.

The Jefferson-Scranton School Board will be attending the Iowa Association of School Boards Annual Convention on Wednesday, November 14th and Thursday, November 15th.  Board members will be attending sessions on Wednesday related to school finance, looking at student data, and school related legislation.  The conference keynote speaker Tony Wagner will speak on Thursday with his message being “Creating Innovators.”  Board members will choose from a variety of sessions to attend on Thursday.

Thursday, November 15th will be the end of the first trimester.  High School students will be taking trimester tests on Wednesday, November 14th and Thursday, November 15th.
