The Seeds of Faith Early Learning Center, a ministry of Faith Lutheran Church in Clive, Iowa, was awarded a five-star rating by Iowa’s Department of Human Services Quality Rating System. Seeds of Faith was assessed through Iowa State University Extension using the using the Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale.
Overall program excellence is assessed on the scale in the following areas: space and furnishings, personal care routines, language-reasoning, activities, interaction, program structure and parents and staff. The ECERS assessment was the last requirement to receive the highest rating of five stars on the QRS.
Heidi LaBounty, the director of Seeds of Faith noted, “The Seeds of Faith teaching team worked incredibly hard to reach this goal. We are also blessed to have amazing support from our preschool board and the families within our preschool and church communities.”
The Seeds of Faith Early Learning Center serves over 100 children ages two through five. The preschool uses the Creative Curriculum® as a guide for planning learning activities. The Creative Curriculum® focuses on four key areas of development: social/emotional, cognitive, language and physical. The preschool is licensed by the Iowa Department of Human Services and is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
