Clive Public Art Program Receives Support From Local Business

Posted October 30, 2012 in Clive, Community Web Exclusives

On October 26, the City of Clive’s Public Art Advisory Commission (PAAC) received a sponsorship donation from NCMIC Group/Professional Solutions in the amount of $2,000.  The donation will be directed to the PAAC’s 2013 Kids for Art in Clive annual art contest.

Kids for Art in Clive encourages young artists to be involved in art by providing an opportunity to exhibit their artwork in Clive City Hall’s public spaces.  During the spring the PAAC receives submissions from Kindergarten through 12th grade art students in the West Des Moines, Waukee and Private Area School Districts.  The submissions go through a judging process and the winners are displayed in the lobby of Clive City Hall throughout the year.

Mayor Scott Cirksena looks forward to partnering with a local Clive business for one of Clive’s public art programs saying, “We appreciate the support of NCMIC Group/Professional Solutions in helping Clive increase the quality of life in our community through programs that encourage young people to develop and exhibit their works of art.”
