Services for Lester Schuttler, 73, of Bouton, IA will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 19, 2012 at Murdock Funeral Home in Perry. Visitation will begin after 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 18, 2012 with family receiving friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Murdock Funeral Home. Pastor Mark Holmes will officiate the service with Elta Summersan as organist. Musical selections will be: Old Rugged Cross, Precious Memories and The Sweet Bye and Bye. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Brett Anderson, Bill Chapman, Bill Schuttler, Brian Schuttler, Karl Booth, Greg Haglund and Bill Bullock. Pallbearers will be: Kenneth Schuttler, Ron Rothfus, Todd Reisberg, Dustin Brobst, Travis Edwards and Doug Chapman. Burial will be in Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry with Perry American Legion Post #85 providing Military Honors.
Lester Wayne Schuttler was born December 8, 1938 in Mallard, IA the son of Clarence and Tena(Doyen) Schuttler. After graduation Lester joined the United States Army on February 18, 1958 and was honorably discharged on February 17, 1961. Lester moved to Perry in 1964 and worked at Oscar Mayer for 26 years. After retiring from Oscar Mayer he began working at R&R Automotive Service and worked there for many years. Lester was united in marriage to Janiece Florea on December 31, 1997 in Adel, Iowa. Lester was a fan of NASCAR and enjoyed every aspect of auto racing. Lester passed away at his home on Monday, October 15, 2012.
Lester is preceded in death by his Parents.
Lester is survived by his wife Janiece of Bouton, IA. One son, Wayne (Jodi) Schuttler of Perry, IA; two daughters: Cindy (Ron) Grimsley of Scranton, IA and Cherie (Karl) Booth of Perry, IA. Two step-sons: Bill (Lois) Chapman of Des Moines, IA and Doug (Jan Wignall) Chapman of Boone, IA. Three brothers: Louis (Betty) Schuttler of Manson, IA; Lyle (Jackie) Schuttler of Fonda, IA and Leo (Jane) Schuttler of Pocahontas, IA. Six grandchildren: Travis Edwards, Dustin Brobst, Megan Schuttler-Olmstead, BriAnn Chapman, Andy Schuttler and Kate Schuttler. Three great grandchildren: Parker Olmstead, Logan Edwards and Axle Brobst.
