Sports lovers, rejoice! Jimmy’s Big 10 opened just in time for football season and is a great place to watch your favorite team.
My husband and I decided to stop in a few weekends ago to get some lunch and check out the new place. Since I’d been there several times before when other restaurants inhabited the space, I knew the layout of the separate bar and restaurant area, but I hadn’t seen the patio being used for quite some time. There were people filling the tables and chairs outside while they enjoyed their food.
Looking at the menu, I was interested to see a unique mixture of choices. Everything from tapas and burgers to lettuce wraps and pizza filled the pages. I was interested in many of the options, so I decided to try a couple of the tapas. My husband ordered a pizza, and I went for the burger sliders with Swiss cheese and the chicken satay.
Our waitress was smiling and friendly and took our orders quickly. As she walked away, we took in the many televisions airing games and settled in to enjoy some football. It seemed we weren’t the only ones with this idea as many others were gathered in the bar area eating, drinking and enjoying time with friends and family. The vibe was laid back and fun.
Our food arrived, and it looked and smelled amazing. The Chicken satay was beautifully arranged and was almost too pretty to eat. However, I started with this dish immediately. The chicken was juicy and succulent with a warm, intense taste. The fancy arrangement did a good job of hiding that this is truly comfort food at its best. Next, I tried my burger sliders that were much larger than most I’ve seen before. The melted cheese fell over the edges, and with each bite I was more impressed. Full to the brim by slider number three, I let my husband indulge in the last one.
Both stuffed and happy, we paid our bill and took off. This new restaurant is a great place to relax and will certainly be a great new hangout.Jimmy’s Big 10
