Rev. Robert Duane Schultz, age 75, of Clarinda, and formerly of Boone, died September 26, 2012, in Clarinda.
His body has been cremated and graveside services will be Friday, October 5, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Mineral Ridge Cemetery in Ridgeport, with Rev. Gary Sneller officiating. Burial will follow the service.
There will be no visitation.
Robert was born in Waverly, Kansas, on March 11, 1937, the son of Arthur and Beulah May (Romery) Schultz.
He graduated from High School in Burlington, Kansas, and attended Manhattan Bible College.
In 1962, Robert graduated from Drake Divinity College.
He married Phyllis Goger on August 16, 1958, at Indianapolis, Indiana. The couple later divorced.
Robert served as minister for many Methodist and Christian Churches in Iowa. He retired in 1990.
Robert was a member of the Kiwanis Club in Washington, Iowa.
He enjoyed reading and flower and vegetable gardening.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Mildred.
He is survived by four sons: Andrew Schultz and wife Gail of Ogden, Robert Schultz Jr. and wife Carla of Ankeny, Dean Schultz of Kansas City, Missouri, and Jim Schultz of Newell; three daughters: Kay Hammer and husband Bill of Boone, Jennifer Beamon of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Cheryl Williams of Boone; 24 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and his former wife Phyllis Schultz of Boone.
