The Windsor Heights family friendly Oktoberfest begins at 2 pm at Colby Park, located at the end of 69th Street, south of University on Saturday, October 6.
In true Windsor Heights style, the Windsor Heights Oktoberfest has something planned for everyone from interactive inflatables and activities for children, to live music from an award-winning polka band with dancers.
Halloween makes its appearance at Oktoberfest, too, with costume contests for people and their pets, and the perennial favorite pumpkin carving contest (pumpkins provided). No festival would be complete without treats, so look for traditional German bratwurst and sausages, sponsored by the Windsor Heights Police Association, as well as beer and soft drinks, all available for purchase along with artwork by local artists.
Tickets for the inflatables will be sold for $1/each. Tickets for the pony rides will be $3. Admission and parking are free. Parking will be available in the Park and around the side streets.
Media parking may be reserved in advance by calling Tracy Levine, 645-6821.
Deadline for reserved media parking is Friday, October 5 by noon. GREAT PHOTO OPS.
