Ellen E. Collins, age 94, a resident of Indianola since the 1990’s, passed away early Wednesday morning , September 26, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and had been a long time member of the Indianola Senior Center. Ellen was preceded in death by her life partner, Gene Gordan; sisters, Wilma Wymer and Ruth Siegenthaler; brother, Miles Collins. Surviving is her sister Beulah Schaefer of Indianola and several nieces and nephews. Friends and family visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2012, followed by funeral services at 10:30 a.m. at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial will be in St. Marys Cemetery, Lacona, Iowa.
