Charlene Vigon, 82, passed away on September 22, 2012, at Kavanagh Hospice House in Des Moines, Iowa. A memorial gathering will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25, at Iles Funeral Homes-Westover Chapel. Burial will be held at 10 a.m. at Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery on Wednesday, September 26.

Charlene was born on December 23, 1929, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Charles and Mary Gray. She married William Vigon on January 14, 1955, and they made their home in Des Moines. Charlene owned a dog grooming business prior to working as a veterinary assistant for many years. She volunteered for Planned Parenthood book sales. She enjoyed playing bridge and square dancing.

Charlene will be missed by daughter, Jeanne Mayer of Ashland, OR, and son, Dave (Ann) Vigon; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and her beloved poodle, Libby Lu. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2007, William Vigon, and many pets.
