Parents who are looking for a Christian education environment that allows time for kids to read from the Bible, participate in discussion and engage in crafts are turning to Asbury United Methodist Church.

M & Ms is Asbury United Methodist Church’s Wednesday after-school program, which runs through April.

Each child — from preschool age to high school seniors — will be given the opportunity to learn and grow through worship and friendship this fall. Preschool runs through April for children 3 and 4 years old, as well as Sunday school for children ages 3 through grade 12, at 10:40 a.m. M & Ms, which is Asbury’s Wednesday after-school program, also runs through April.

Because there is so much going on for students at the church, Asbury is always looking for passionate adults, teachers, leaders, helpers and substitutes. For more information about position openings and the programs offered, contact Marnia Crawford, Director of Christian Education, at (515) 832-5369, or visit the church website at www.asburywc.org.

Fall is here. We all know school is back in session, but for some Webster City residents, fall is just as much about football. Rather than see its participation decline during worship hours, Trinity Lutheran Church has come up with an alternative for those who just can’t make it happen at 8:30 every Sunday morning.

So the church is offering a unique and informal Saturday service. It’s still a traditional worship, but it is informal enough that people are welcome to wear jeans. Attendees meet at around 5:30 p.m. at Café Trinity. Café Trinity is the weekly Saturday night fellowship coffee. The worship service begins at 6 p.m. and includes Holy Communion. There is also a contemporary service held at 11 a.m. on Sunday morning, complete with the church band.

Growing in Christ, or GIC, is being offered for children in second through eighth grades at St. Paul Lutheran Church. These classes give children opportunities to grow and learn in the name of Christ on Wednesday afternoons after school. Rides can be provided from school to the church, and all children are welcome, even those outside of the congregation. This is a chance for your child to have a safe and gracious place to go during those hours between the end of school and supper. For more information and registration, contact the church office by email or phone at info@stpaullcwc.com, (515) 832-3043, or stop by the church at 1005 Beach St.
