Urbandale Children’s Theatre Begins Second Year on September 25

Urbandale – September 14, 2012 – – On Tuesday, September 25, the Urbandale Children’s Theatre (Actors, Inc.) begins their 2nd year of the newly formed children’s theatre group, with the support of the Urbandale Parks and Recreation Department.  They invite all children, ages 8-13, who are interested in acting, costuming, playwriting, etc. for a 5-week session, meeting on Tuesdays from 3:45-5:15 p.m. The class meets at the Urbandale Senior Citizen Center from September 25 through October 23.  Fee for the class is $45. Previous students are welcome, along with any new students interested in theatre.  This session, we will be emphasizing the music and dance elements of a musical entitled, The Runaway Rabbit.

These activities will culminate in a mini-performance of the written script on the final Tuesday, where parents, family and other guests are invited to be the audience.  Emphasis in the class will be on theatre terms, discipline, voice projection, characterization, and musical theatre, but most of all the joy of theatre and performance.  Registration Deadline is September 20.
