New Service

A new e-book service was be unveiled on Sept. 5 called the 3M Cloud Library.
The Cloud will allow Des Moines and Windsor Heights library customers  access to free e-books via multiple platforms. In addition, a circulating collection of new e-readers will be available to check out.

Crafty Kids
Tuesdays in September, 4 pm.
For ages 3 – 8. Read a story and make a craft.

Sept. 25: Pete the Cat and His 4 Groovy Buttons

Furry Tales
Saturday, Sept. 15 and Sept. 22, 11 a.m.
The library’s popular Saturday Special program of Furry Tales has moved to Franklin Avenue Library.  Stop by the library to sign up for a 10-minute slot to share a favorite story with Scout, the therapy dog.

Booktalking the Battle Books
Wednesday, Sept. 19
4 p.m.
Ages 8 and older
Get a jump on the Battle of the Books with a discussion of three books from the DMPS list: “Amelia Lost: The Life and Disappearance of Amelia Earhart,” “The Cheshire Cheese Cat: A Dickens of a Tale,” and “Trouble Maker.” Join in fun activities, games and chat. Please preregister .

Teen DIY Craft
Wednesday, Sept. 24, 4 p.m.
Teens, join us to make jute baskets; please preregister. Snacks provided.
