Stay Involved

Posted September 05, 2012 in Community Featured, Clear Lake

All children are invited to join “Clubhouse,” at the Clear Lake Open Bible Church, 609 S. Eighth St., this fall on Wednesdays starting at 7 p.m.

The Clear Lake Open Bible Church offers plenty for youths to stay involved despite their busy school schedules this fall.

Much like its Sunday school programs, the main goal of Clubhouse is to “lay down a spiritual foundation for children, so that they may be led into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ,” according to church leaders. Clubhouse offers children of the Clear Lake community a variety of activities, including singing, exuberant worship and other games.

For the older kids, “The Net” youth group also meets at the same time in the Say Yes Youth Center directly across the street from the church. The organization also participates in many activities throughout the year, including youth conferences. More information regarding these groups can be found by contacting the youth director, Kate Rogers, at serenitymassagebykate@gmail.com, or by visiting the church website at www.clearlakeopenbible.com.

Zion Lutheran Church, located at 112 N. Fourth St., is looking for help from volunteers to assist with its youth organization, PrimeTime, for the upcoming school year. Zion is looking for people who feel they have been given a “gift from God in working with children.” Information about PrimeTime and other youth programs at Zion can be found at the Youth Information Center or downloaded from the church website at www.zionclearlake.org.

Clear Lake Church of Christ, 2010 14th Ave. N., could use some help, too. Church Clean-Up Day, which is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 8, involves multiple projects, so the church reminds its congregation that “many hands make lighter work.” Help is needed for classroom cleanup, work outside of the church and painting of the building. More information about the cleanup day and times can be found at the church website at www.clearlakecc.com or by calling the church at (641) 357-5813.

Clear Lake Evangelical Free Church, 1310 Highway 18 W., wants to remind churchgoers that the Tuesday morning women’s Bible study continues every Tuesday at 8:15 a.m., starting after Sept. 11. Meetings will be held in the Fireside room of the church. Cost of the workbook is $20. Get more information by contacting Sue Jacobs at lsjacobs@netins.net or at the church website at www.clearlakefree.org.
