Following a six-year wait, the Adel Public Library Board and Staff are happy to announce the completion of Phase III of the library.
The Library Foundation is excited to share the new space with everyone, so a special event is being planned in order that everyone may see and enjoy the entire library.
A Miniature Golf @ Your Library fundraiser is planned for Friday, Sept. 21 from 5 – 8 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Children and adults will have fun golfing throughout the library. The cost is $5 for children age 11 years through adult for one round of golf and $3 for children 10 and younger. The library will be closed for all other transactions on Saturday, Sept. 22.
The miniature golf event is an Adel Library Foundation fundraiser and, proceeds will be used to purchase additional furnishings for the second floor.
Social Security workshop
A workshop entitled “Social Security Timing – Helping Married Couples File for Maximum Lifetime Benefits” will be held at the library on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 6:30 p.m. Registration is required. The workshop will be presented by Stephen W. Connolly Sr., CFP of the Retirement Planning Center.
The free workshop is for married couples to check to see if they have properly filed for Social Security or for those who will be filing in the near future. Improper filing can cost thousands of dollars over a lifetime, and this one hour presentation may mean a great deal of savings for those who attend.
