OK, I’ll be honest. I’ve been to this little Italian restaurant, but it was time to step outside the box and order something I hadn’t before.
So, a few nights ago my husband, little girl and I made a reservation for a nice weeknight dinner. When our afternoon got busier than expected, we were able to change our reservation at the last minute with no trouble at all.
Once inside and seated at our quaint table, we instantly relaxed. The lights were dimmed, and small table lights flickered at each white-clothed table. It was a beautiful, almost romantic setting. The chatter from the other full tables was loud and lively but not distracting. I looked over the menu, determined to find something I hadn’t tried before. It was a toss-up between the baby back ribs and the Chicken Pomodoro since both sounded delicious. Eventually, I chose the chicken dish, and my husband went with the Beef Tenderloin DeBurgo.
As we waited, we were served warm, white bread with butter and salads with creamy Parmesan dressing. Before I go into my actual meal, let me just gush over the salad. The dressing, which they will tell you is the closest they have to ranch, is absolutely scrumptious. Every time we are here, the salad is something to look forward to. Crisp lettuce, thick and yummy dressing; what’s not to love?
The waitress was extremely nice, talking to our baby and always quick with our requests. When she arrived with our main dishes, we were both glad we tried something new.
I delved into my chicken, which was covered in white wine sauce and crusted with Parmesan cheese. No knife was needed as my chicken was perfectly cooked and juicy. The sauce added a little warmth and depth to the taste and blended well with the wild rice pilaf that was served as a side dish.
My husband had his finished well before I did, which I’m pretty sure means he loved it. In fact, he even finished mine off when I couldn’t. In short, our meals were wonderful.
The service was great, and our infant very much enjoyed the lively atmosphere and friendly staff who were always around to smile and talk with her. Once again, we were more than pleased with our experience at Sam and Gabe’s.Sam and Gabe’s
