Lois Naomi Laing, daughter of Leonard C. Goltry and Zella (Vinsel) Goltry was born on May 19, 1918 in Russell, Iowa. She passed from this life on Thursday, August 30, 2012, at Desert Flower Assisted Living in Scottsdale, Arizona at 94 years of age.Lois graduated from Russell High School. She also graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a teaching degree. Lois was united in marriage to T.J. Laing on January 25, 1941 in Maryville, Missouri. Their daughter, Kay, blessed this union.

Lois and T.J. moved to Osceola in 1952. Lois was a dedicated math teacher at Clarke Community Junior High School for several years. They were members of the Osceola United Methodist Church. She enjoyed wintering in Texas with friends and family after she retired. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed various woodworking projects as well. She moved to Des Moines in 1988 and then moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1996 to live near their daughter. Lois loved being with her family and most recently found great pleasure in her new great granddaughter, Alexia. Lois loved animals and had many dearly loved pets during her lifetime. She adored her canine grandchildren Sadie, Betsy, Daisy, and Duke.

Her parents and 2 sisters preceded her in death. TJ also preceded her in death in 1998.

Lois is survived by her daughter Kay Reed and her husband Leon of Scottsdale, Arizona, her granddaughter Kelsey Caulfield and her husband Liam, and her great granddaughter Alexia Caulfield of Phoenix, Arizona. Her loving family, relatives, and friends will forever cherish their memories with her.
