September Happenings at the Library

Posted August 29, 2012 in Community Blogs

Bounce Back to the Fort Dodge Public Library!

Saturday, September 8 marks our return to fall hours at the Library, and we’re celebrating our first Saturday open with a celebration! The Library is sponsoring Market on Center that day and we’ll have the Bouncy Thing out front for the kids from 9 until noon. We also have a special treat inside the Library that day, so come inside, look around, check out some great books and movies and get ready for a great fall!

Tuesday, September 11 we have a great program lined up at 2 p.m. Bill Jamerson, of Escanaba, Michigan is coming to present a multi-media tribute to the Civilian Conservation Corps, a Depression Era work program created by President Roosevelt. He tells stories, sings and reads excerpts from his novel Big Shoulders, and talks about how important the CCC was in the lives of the teenage boys and their families.

Thursday, September 13 is the first day of registration for the Fall Preschool Storytime programs offered to children ages 3 to 6 who are not in kindergarten.  Program times will be:

Wednesdays – 10 a.m. to 10:30

Thursdays – 10 a.m. to 10:30 and 2 p.m. to 2:30 beginning September 19.

Parents can call or stop by the Children’s Department of the library to register.

The Library is open Monday and Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.  See you soon!
