A couple of reviewers’ comments about Irvin’s performance in Tales of Hoffman at Wolf Trap Opera…
At the top of the list was bass-baritone Craig Irvin who performed the difficult role of the “Four Villains” with remarkable skill and subtle shading. His sound was rich and clear, and his French pronunciation and diction was quite skilled. – Washington Times
Craig Irvin, as Hoffmann’s various nemeses, used his robust bass-baritone artfully – Baltimore Sun
Irvin received his Bachelor of Music Education from Simpson College where he studied with Dr. Maria DiPalma and Dr. Robert Larsen. He has a Masters in Vocal Performance degree from the University of Tennessee where he studied with Andrew Wentzel. He has also worked with Lyric Opera of Chicago, Opera North, Knoxville Opera, and Des Moines Metro Opera.
