March 8, 1925 – August 23, 2012

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, August 27, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll with Pastor Brian Licht officiating. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 5:00 P.M. on Sunday where there will be prayer service held at 7:00 P.M.. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 A.M. on Monday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Organist for the service will be Jan Hoff. Congregational hymns will be “Beautiful Savior”, “Be Still My Soul”, and “Now Thank We All Our God”. Casket bearers will be Steven Musfeldt, Dale Musfeldt, Allen Grundmeier, Kurt Grundmeier, Robert Grundmeier, and Robert Meehan. Honorary casket bearers will be Lester Outhouse and Michael Vogl. Burial will be in the Arcadia Cemetery.

Born on March 8, 1925 at Arcadia, Iowa, she was the daughter of Emil and Ida (Vetter) Grundmeier. Dorothy was baptized on March 29, 1925 and confirmed in the Lutheran faith on April 2, 1939 at Zion Lutheran Chruch in Arcadia. She attended country school as a girl and graduated from Arcadia High School in 1942. Following high school she was employed at Montgomery Ward Company and Electric Light and Power Company for several years. She also worked for several years for Dr. Rudolph Ferlic as an office manager and assisted with patient care, retiring in 1982. After retirement Dorothy helped her sisters Frances and Louise in their seamstress business. Dorothy enjoyed needle work and was very involved in the Ladies Quilting Club at St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was a member. She was also active with senior fellowship and the women’s guild at St. Paul.

Dorothy is survived by two nieces: Mary Ann Musfeldt and her husband David of Manning and Caroline Niehaus and her husband Ralph of Arcadia; a nephew Donald Grundmeier of Westside; and several great nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters: Frances Grundmeier, Louise Kurth, Irene Bayer, and brothers Otto and Emil Grundmeier.
