Changing Seasons

Posted August 22, 2012 in Community Featured, Waukee

Fall is returning, and families are rearranging their schedules for school and worship service changes. Some are welcoming old traditions while others are looking for something new. Either way, Waukee churches have both.

St. Boniface Catholic Church will continue its tradition of holding Bonifest, a party celebrating its parish and welcoming newcomers, in Centennial Park.

St. Boniface Catholic Church is celebrating another year with Bonifest, a party with the parish in the park. Slated for Sunday, Aug. 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., this annual celebration will take over Centennial Park with fun, fellowship and other activities.

Find out more by visiting the church at 1200 Warrior Lane, browsing the website at www.stbonifacechurch.org, or by calling the church at (515) 987-4597.

Point of Grace Church is welcoming newcomers, too. All are invited to “get plugged in” at “Connect Point,” a fellowship event that is about getting connected through learning POG’s purpose and values, meeting staff and leaders, going on an all-access tour, enjoying fellowship and a free lunch as well as possibly winning some great prizes. Connect Point will take place after the second service on Sunday, Aug. 26. Register at www.pointofgrace.com, or find a form in the atrium at the connection tables. The church is located at 305 N.E. Dartmoor Drive. Learn more online, or call (515) 987-9595.

To celebrate their journey through “The Story,” Point of Grace members welcome all to join them for a free brunch after first and second services on Aug. 26. This is an opportunity for visitors to “get plugged in” to Point of Grace and its members.

Westview Church’s fall launch and kick-off for Discovery Hour will occur on Sept. 9. Discovery Hour will be offered at 9 a.m. for all ages, and the church service will start at 10:30 with Children’s Worship for children ages 4 – 8. A pancake breakfast will follow the morning service.

All children through sixth grade should get signed up for Children’s Ministry 2012 – 13. Interested parties should download the registration form from the website at www.westview.org. Print the form and complete one per child. Bring the form to the church at 1155 S.E. Boone Drive, and leave it in the Welcome Center. Or, email the church at info@westview.org.
