March 23, 1933- August 16, 2012
David was a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association and the NRA. Dave’s passion in life was his horses. He started out in Colorado riding cutting horses for 5 years in the AQHA. He then worked into showing and fitting yearling studs and fillies for futurities and halter classes. He also put together his own breeding program to raise his halter prospects. His favorite broodmare was a 3 time AQHA World Show qualifier in the Aged Mare division. In 1991, he retired to Decatur City on the farm/ranch where he grew up. He continued to raise Quarter horses and ran a small herd of black angus cows. He also was able to enjoy fishing, turkey and deer hunting.
