Wanda Dockstader, age 79, of Boone, Iowa, and a resident of the Eastern Star Masonic Home, and formerly of Corydon, Indiana, died August 16, 2012, at the Home.
Her body has been cremated and a private family Memorial Service will be Wednesday at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall in Boone, Iowa.
Her cremains will be buried in the Boone Memorial Gardens in Boone.
There will be no visitation hours.
Wanda was born in Corydon, Indiana, on April 15, 1933, the daughter of Noel and Roxie (Heishman) McKim.
She graduated from Corydon High School in Indiana, in 1951.
On December 8, 1956, Wanda married Jerry Dockstader at the Oak Grove Methodist Church in Corydon.
In addition to Corydon, she and her husband lived in Shelbyville, Kentucky, and Davenport, Des Moines, Eldridge, and Webster City, Iowa, before moving to Boone in 1984.
While living in Kentucky, Wanda worked for GMAC Mortgage and Devoe Paints in Louisville.
She enjoyed reading, traveling, camping, wintering in Mississippi and Florida, and spending time with her family.
In earlier years she enjoyed crocheting.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry, and a sister Estal Morgan.
She is survived by four sons: Jerry Dockstader, Jr. of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Jay Scott Dockstader of Boone, Iowa, Doug Dockstader and wife Bridgette of Gilbert, Iowa, and Eric Dockstader and wife Tonishia of Belmond, Iowa; a daughter Sonya Hook and husband Kevin of Fairmont, Minnesota; a brother James McKim of Corydon, Indiana; and three grandchildren: Brian Dockstader of Washington, DC., and Kyara and Keenan Pals of Belmond, Iowa.
