Marie Dostal, age 34, of 1901 First Street, died August 13, 2012, at the Boone County Hospital.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall with Rev. Randy Schon officiating.
Burial will be in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery near Gilbert.
Marie was born in Chicago, Illinois, on February 18, 1978, the daughter of Joseph and Emilia (Jestrebsky) Dostal.
At age 11, the family moved to a farm in northern Boone County.
She graduated from South Hamilton School in Jewell in 1996.
Marie graduated from Boone DMACC in 2001.
For seven years, she was employed as an office secretary for Fareway Stores.
Marie presently was a crew member at McDonald’s.
She was active in 4-H and had been a member of the American Quarter Horse and the Painted Horse Associations.
Marie raised miniature dachshunds and Chihuahuas.
She loved spending time with friends, watching movies, especially comedies, and listening to country western music.
Marie is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her best friend and adopted sister Mary Tillman and husband Chad and their children and Maries adopted nieces Killashandra Erickson, Maryjane Tillman and Laurlien Tillman, all of Boone, and her adopted grandparents Howard and Mary Conard of Boone.
Friends may call at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel on Monday from 4 until 7 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until service time.
