On August 6 – 8, 2012 a team of certified Health Care professionals from the Department of Inspection and Appeals as appointed by the State of Iowa were sent to Scottish Rite Park Retirement Community for an annual recertification and licensure survey to determine compliance with State licensure and Federal participation requirements for long-term care facilities participating in the Medicare and/or Medicaid programs. Scottish Rite Park was officially announced on August 9, 2012 as flawless or deficiency free out of a possible 372 areas that could be potentially sited as non-compliance defaults. As per the Iowa Health Care Association, 408 surveys were conducted over the past year and only 28 facilities or 6.9% were deficiency free.
