Home Grown Talent 2012

August 9, 2012— Waukee, Iowa –The Waukee Area Arts Council announces Home Grown Talent, the best Iowa talent showcased for your enjoyment. Buy a season ticket package for all seven performances at just $60 – get one show free.

Season ticket information is available by calling 515-402-7870, on the Web at WaukeeArts.org, or by picking up a brochure at local businesses. Performances are at 7:00 pm and will be at ArtsCentral, 405 Maple Street, Waukee. (Unless Otherwise Noted)

“We are very excited to be able to present this great series,” said Cindy DePond, of the Waukee Area Arts Council. “This will be our third year offering a Home Grown Talent Series at ArtsCentral. The intimate space is perfect for performances. We have had rave reviews from both audience and performers! Each year the excitement has grown and our audiences have increased.”

Waukee native will sing a selection of songs off his new CD An American Baritone – a blend of both Opera and Musical Theatre songs! PLEASE NOTE: Craig’s performance will be at the Waukee High School Auditorium.

Timberline Brass Quintet

Rosyln Stone is a budding and dynamic all-women vocal ensemble specializing in a dramatic blend of ancient and modern music.

Enjoy a reader’s theatre version of 
Charles Dickens’ holiday classic! The story will come alive as a local cast 
transports you back to meet Ebenezer Scrooge and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come.

January is the perfect time to enjoy the hot jazz sounds of The Jazz Page. Led by saxophonist Wayne Page, this quartet is comprised of great jazz musicians that are also very committed to Jazz Education.

Darren and Molly Matthews are the songwriting folk duo Thankful Dirt. Their musical artistry is as fertile as Iowa soil. Trumpet player Erik Brown joins them adding a whole new layer to their songs.

Tina Haase Findlay returns after a spectacular performance last season. Brandon’s guitar mastery and Tina’s incredible vocals make up bella soul. They have created a 
”kaleidoscopic” approach of emotion and sound that fuses rock, soul and blues with jazz, and gospel.
“We have a fabulous season offering a wide variety of performances,” continued DePond. “We hope that everyone will join us and experience some great Iowa talent.”
