The other day, I was hungry and in the mood for a great burger. Dragging my family out of the house, we eventually decided to try out Fuddruckers, which is known for its big, juicy burgers.
Once we arrived, I was impressed with the layout of the restaurant and the uniqueness of the system. First, there is a display case of all the choices of meat that are on the menu. In their raw form, of course; I had never seen this type of display. As we rounded the corner, we walked up to the counter where we were able to order and pay before we even found a place to sit. They gave us a buzzer that would alert us when our meals were ready.
My husband chose the half-pound burger with fries and a soda. As I perused all the burger, chicken, hot dog and salad choices, I decided a chicken sandwich sounded great. I finally ordered the Chipotle BBQ Sandwich and made it a combo with onion rings and a soda. I also noted the bakery display case behind us and made a mental note to revisit that later.
As we sat down in a cushy booth in the dimly-lit dining room, I was interested in how many places there were to sit. There were lots of tables, but more importantly, there were tables and booths set in lit corners that each had a theme. One corner had a Harley-Davidson theme with pictures and memorabilia covering the walls and another was themed in Beatles décor. There was also a large party room that would be great for a big group.
When our food arrived, I started in on my onion rings which were warm, seasoned and perfectly crunchy. I loaded my plate at the condiments counter with extra BBQ sauce, ketchup and creamy ranch before I cut my large chicken sandwich in half and took a bite. It was juicy, warm, flavorful and had crisp bacon on top. The barbecue sauce was a perfect touch to an already amazing sandwich.
My husband’s meal was gone before I could get a good look at it, but that’s usually a good sign. He even grabbed me a delicious brownie from the bakery counter and a chocolate shake to top off our wonderful meal. I was stuffed but happy. I think we will be back.
