Fourth of July Thank You Note

Posted August 02, 2012 in Community Featured, Perry

We would like to send a huge thank you out to everyone who had a part in making this year’s Fourth of July the great success it was.

A special thank you goes out to the parks and recreation department. Kevin Kanealy and his crew set up the park with tables, trash cans, etc. to help make everyone comfortable, and after the celebration his crew came back to clean the park, making it look as if no event had even taken place. Thanks to the street department and the police for helping set everything up and for directing traffic at the end, along with the numerous things in between.

The Chamber Board deserves thanks for all the help in planning along with the help they provided that day. Shawn Kenney and Mark Powell, thank you for lining up the parade. Thank you to Kim Jackson at Blue Rock Productions for providing sound at the band shell all day. Thank you to Dallas County Hospital for hosting a very successful bike rodeo in conjunction with the Perry Police Department.  And last, but not least, a huge thank you to our sponsors who support us financially making this great event possible. Sorry if I left someone out. If you were a part of this celebration then thank you for giving your time to make Perry’s Fourth of July Celebration the great time that it was. Please support out sponsors!

Friday Fest
Come on down to Pattee Park on Aug. 17 this summer’s final Friday Fest. We will be bringing the Jason Walsmith and the Lamplighters to town. Jason is a founding member of The Nadas. There will be tons of great food and craft vendors, an expanded kid’s area and plenty of great times. Thanks to the Dallas County Children’s Advocacy Council there will be free inflatables again this event for the kids. Don’t forget the kids need to have a pair of socks. Make sure to fill your picnic basket or cooler with plenty of local foods and beverages A huge thank you to our sponsors for making these events possible. Without your continued support we would not be able to put together these great programs. The music starts at 6:30 p.m.
