Wrap Up Your Summer at the Johnston Library

The summer may be winding down, but here at Johnston Public Library we are still in full swing.

As you prepare for the start of school and the end of summer weather, stop by the library for some great August programming.

Adult Bookclub
Thursday, Aug. 9, 6:30 – 7:45 p.m.
Join us for lively discussion sure to spark many diverse viewpoints. This month’s book is John Berendt’s sharp, suspenseful and engrossing “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.” Books are available while supplies last at the circulation desk.

SHIP Welcome to Medicare Program
Saturday, Aug. 11
10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
New to Medicare or attempting to help a relative wade through the Medicare process? Come to the library for some solid information from a respected source. SHIP, the State Health Insurance Assistance Program, is a free service of the State of Iowa that helps Iowans make informed decisions about Medicare and other health coverage. Join SHIP counselors on Thursday, Aug. 9 as they explain the differences between Medicare Parts A and B, benefits, costs, prescription drug coverage and so much more. August Family Movie
Sunday, Aug. 26, 2 p.m.
Bring the family and enjoy the big screen for free. This month’s feature film is “Journey 2 – The Mysterious Island,” rated PG. No registration necessary; children under age 6 must be accompanied by an adult.
