New Hope Assembly of God will hold an informational BBQ/Cookout on Friday, Aug. 3, for anyone interested in participating in the New England/Canada Cruise taking place in September 2013. The event will be held in the youth center and everyone is encouraged to bring a side dish or dessert to share.
On Saturday, Aug. 11, ladies of all ages are welcome to attend the Mug and Muffin event beginning at 11 a.m. in the youth chapel.
Do you enjoy a good book? Join the Book Buddies as they meet on Monday, Aug. 13 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the church nursery. This month’s book is “The Judgment” by Beverly Lewis.

As kids prepare to go back to school, they need supplies, so start collecting now for the Elementary School Backpack/School Supply Drive. A list of all the needed supplys are available in the welcome center.
Gloria Dei Lutheran Church will hold a potluck and presentation on Sunday, Aug. 12 following the 5 p.m. dinner meeting of the Church’s Senior Adult Ministry. The presentation will cover Medicare hospital insurance, medical insurance, supplement insurance, prescription drug coverage and annual enrollment procedures. The Gloria Dei Lutheran youth group has set a goal to raise $5,600 to build a well in Niger, Africa. The group came up with a theme, “Sacrifice a Little, So Someone Can Have a Lot,” and decided to give up some extra expenses like going out to eat or buying music or movies to help reach their goal.
